Leisl is a nurse with the Royal Flying Doctors whilst James is an ambulance officer. The two met while working at various rural hospitals. When asked, James says Leisl is perfect. He greatly admires her compassion and care for others as well as her strength. To quote James from our video interview, "She's dedicated her life to caring for others. That's just such an amazing characteristic that somebody could have. She reflects that in the way that she cares for me and the way that she cares for us as a team."
The photo of Leisl on her phone is of her in her uniform on the back of a ute as she holds equipment ready to assist someone. She was proudly telling stories of her adventures as she got her hair and makeup done!
James is from Broken Hill and Leisl is originally from the South Coast of NSW. They decided to have their wedding in Dubbo to celebrate their new life together in Dubbo.
As the couple got ready at the Zoo there were kangaroos hopping around freely. Dundullimal had beautiful rustic buildings and the fantastic wind-pump which features in our photos.
